High-Protein Nut Free Pumpkin Apple Oat Bites - For Humans & Our Dogs

These soft, chewy bites taste like mini pumpkin-apple muffins or oatmeal cookies. They’re super nutritious, high in protein from eggs + Greek yogurt + chia, and completely safe + yummy for both humans and dogs. No peanut butter or nut/seed butters needed—just pantry basics!

Makes ~24–30 small bites (perfect for sharing)

Ingredients

•  1 cup pure pumpkin purée (canned or homemade—not pumpkin pie filling)

•  2 large eggs (for binding + high-quality protein)

•  ½ cup plain unsweetened Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat for extra creaminess and protein)

•  1 apple, peeled, cored, and finely diced (seeds removed—adds natural sweetness, fiber, and moisture)

•  2½ cups rolled oats (plus a little more if the dough feels too wet)

•  1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for flavor and mild anti-inflammatory benefits)

•  1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adds gentle sweetness—use the full amount for humans or reduce to ½ tablespoon or skip for dogs)

•  2 tablespoons chia seeds (extra plant-based protein, fiber, and omega-3s)

Instructions

1.  Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease a mini muffin tin for cute bite shapes.

2.  In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin purée, eggs, Greek yogurt, diced apple, cinnamon, honey, and chia seeds until smooth and well combined.

3.  Stir in the rolled oats until a thick, scoopable dough forms (it should hold together like cookie dough). If it feels too sticky from the yogurt and apple, add 1–2 extra tablespoons of oats.

4.  Roll into 1-inch balls or scoop into the mini muffin tin. Gently flatten the balls slightly if baking on a sheet.

5.  Bake for 15–20 minutes until firm and lightly golden on the edges (they’ll firm up more as they cool).

6.  Let cool completely on a wire rack before serving.

Serving & Storage Tips

Dogs: Serve 1–2 small bites per day (adjust for your dog’s size—treats should be ≤10% of daily calories). The pumpkin + apple + oats support digestion, while eggs and yogurt add quality protein.

Humans: Enjoy warm or at room temperature—they taste like healthy pumpkin-apple oatmeal muffins. Perfect snack, breakfast bite, or lunchbox treat!

Storage: Airtight container in the fridge up to 1 week or freezer up to 3 months (thaw before giving to dogs).

Why These Are High-Protein & Nutritious

Protein boost: Eggs (12g+ total), Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and oats create a solid protein punch without any nuts.

Shared benefits for people & pups: Pumpkin delivers vitamins, beta-carotene, and fiber for immunity and digestion. Apple adds natural sweetness + extra fiber. Oats provide sustained energy. Cinnamon supports gut health. Chia brings omega-3s. Everything is human-grade, vet-safe, and made with real ingredients—no toxins, no xylitol.

These are ready in under 30 minutes and a huge hit—your dog will beg, and you’ll love sneaking a few yourself!

Enjoy baking and sharing these wholesome treats! 🎃🐶
