Hello & Welcome

I am Heatherly A. Gardner, LCSW

My ultimate goal is to help you live a more authentic and centered life. Some days, life can feel so overwhelming. With each season of life brings its own set of challenges, we often find ourselves cycling through different emotions and behavioral patterns. Sometimes we may feel confused, lost, and “stuck” and we have no idea how to move forward; that’s where I come in. My job is to help facilitate healing and help you navigate life’s most complicated seasons. I wholeheartedly believe that the relationship you have with your therapist should be genuine, collaborative, and safe.

Everyone deserves to feel empowered and accepted on their journey towards healing. If you feel like we would be a good fit, I would be honored to be a part of your story. If you'd like to learn more, text me to book a free 15-minute phone consultation.

My experience comes from both sides of the couch. I am a healer,

and I am on a lifelong journey of new learning, healing, and. Continuing my journey of healing, learning, and growth is a strong part of my self-care so I can be my best self for you.

I grew up the oldest of five children on the West Coast in a military family where caregivers struggled with their own untreated mental health disorders, childhood trauma, and combat PTSD. Still struggling with my own demons I was attracted to other injured souls and survived many more years of domestic violence as an adult in sobriety. Through my own trauma work, nutrition, and herbs I have healed from shingles, autoimmune disorders, stage 4 ovarian cancer, and stage 2 breast cancer. This first-hand experience has been such a gift, allowing me even more compassion and understanding for you.

In the early 90's I was a 12-step sponsor and mentor. I started giving back what I had so unconditionally received. I spoke at schools about domestic violence, volunteered at women's shelters, worked in residential treatment centers in addition to volunteering. Eventually, I went on to earn my undergraduate degree in Family Consumer and Human Development (FCHD) with an emphasis in herbs and nutrition, and a Masters of Social Work degree from Utah State University.

I have expertise in working with people who have experienced human trafficking, complex trauma (C-PTSD), combat trauma, chronic and pain, dissociative and eating disorders, personality disorders, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, addiction, grief, and loss, and other co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. In 2015 I started working holistically with those who are battling cancer, autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, surgical trauma, and other medical issues.

I have spent over two decades volunteering and serving Recovery, Plural, and LGBTQ communities. I use a combination of many evidence-based modalities not limited to but including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

As a Utah State Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I enjoy empowering and educating individuals and families. The more we learn, the kinder and more compassionate we become to ourselves and one another.

I believe the most important key to healing is learning to replace self-judgment with curiosity and self-compassion while learning to trust your inner wisdom and higher self.

“Our Ancestors knew that healing comes in cycles and circles.

One generation carries the pain so that the next can live and heal.

One cannot live without the other, each is the other's hope, meaning & strength.”
